Shawn Flanagan's illustrious career in feature film production and acting spans over two decades. His journey began with a brief stint as an extra on the iconic film "The Right Stuff", which sparked his interest in the craft. Flanagan subsequently enrolled at De Anza College in Cupertino, California, where he pursued studies in film and acting.
It wasn't long before he collaborated with Sean Donahue and Patrick G. Donahue of Bottom Line Studios, co-writing, managing production, and co-starring in four feature films alongside notable actors such as Sean Donahue, Richard Lynch, Erik Estrada, Frank Stallone, Patrick G. Donahue, and Ted Markland. These films were distributed through Artist View Entertainment.
In 1997, Flanagan founded Almaden Films, where he wrote, produced, and directed twelve films, four of which premiered at the esteemed San Jose Cinequest film festival. His work was recognized at the Silver Street film festival in 2001, when he received the Low Budget Genius Award for his contribution to "The Friggin' Mafia Movie" starring Richard Lynch.
Flanagan's impressive résumé continued to grow with the 2014 co-production, direction, and editing of the pilot reality show "The Ridgeways". Most recently, in November 2017, he was nominated in two categories at the US Hollywood International Golden Film Awards for Outstanding Producer and Outstanding Director for his work on "Jimmy Kendrick", a film he co-wrote, co-produced, shot, directed, and edited.
