Shane Morrisun, a multifaceted Producer and Director, resides in Park City, Utah, where he has established himself as a talented and versatile filmmaker.
As a child, Shane began his acting career in California, landing his first television guest starring role at the age of 11 on the series "BibleMan," featuring Willie Aames, also known for his role as Buddy in "Charles in Charge." In 1996, Shane relocated to Utah, where he continued his training and theater work in high school, taking film acting classes at UVSC (now UVU).
Shane took a hiatus from acting in 2003 to prioritize his growing family. He returned to acting in 2015, initially taking on background roles in feature films and television, securing an agent, and auditioning once more. Shortly after, he began working as crew on local independent films, where he learned the ins and outs of filmmaking through hands-on experience, reading books, and watching online tutorials.
Shane met his partner and writer, Shytei Corellian, and together they created their own film, "The Wolf," which revealed Shane's natural talent behind the camera and in post-production. Shytei expanded the story, incorporating different time periods, resulting in "The Wolves," Shane's sophomore short film.
Throughout his career, Shane has gained experience in every department of film production, from below-the-line roles such as production assistant, grip and electrical, art department, sound, assistant directing, script supervision, and director of photography to above-the-line acting, directing, and producing. He has won numerous awards for his directorial debut on "The Wolf" and "The Wolves" as well as for his work on cinematography for the short film "Satanico."
In 2020, Shane founded his own production company, Free Reign Films, and a corresponding YouTube channel, where he showcases his short films. Free Reign Films is currently developing several feature films at various stages.
As an emerging filmmaker, Shane excels at developing an idea, enriching it, and guiding it onto the screen in a capable and efficient manner, resulting in exceptional outcomes. With over 100 film credits across 80 different projects, Shane has honed the ability to remain composed under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances, always thinking of innovative solutions to problems that arise.
