Shane, a visionary filmmaker, is renowned for his powerful storytelling abilities and his relentless passion for his craft. With a decade of experience making short films, commercials, and music videos under his belt, Shane developed a distinct visual style and a deep understanding of every aspect of production.
In 2005, Shane took a bold step and invested his own savings to produce his feature debut, Gabriel, with a budget of just $200,000. Despite the risks, the film went on to become a massive commercial success, selling to Sony Pictures and releasing in Australian cinemas in 2007. The film's worldwide release in 2008 cemented its place as one of the most successful independent Australian films of all time, and it remains a top-grossing international release to this day.
Shane's success in Hollywood soon followed, as he was snapped up by major studios to develop high-profile projects. However, he found himself disheartened by the lack of originality and creative risk-taking in the industry, leading him to explore more experimental areas of cinema.
The result was his second feature, Infini, which received international acclaim when it was released in 2015. Shot in the style of classic 1970s and 1980s sci-fi, the film was designed to be intentionally divisive in its storytelling techniques, offering an alternative to the current crop of science fiction.
Shane's third directorial effort, The Osiris Child, premiered at Austin's Fantastic Fest in 2016, and was hailed as a love letter to the genre cinema of Shane's youth. The film achieved great success, launching newcomer Teagan Croft into the spotlight, where she landed the co-lead on DC's Teen Titans playing Raven.
Today, Shane continues to push the boundaries of storytelling, focusing on unique and immersive ways to bring characters to life. He is now exploring more experimental approaches to drama and performance, cementing his reputation as a true original in the world of filmmaking.
