Sean O'Reilly is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Arcana Studios, a renowned animated movie producer and writer.
With a strong academic background, Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, which he earned in 1997. He further pursued his education and obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1999. Sean's academic journey continued as he completed his Master of Science in Leadership and Administration at the University of Oregon in 2002. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Management Information Services and Technology.
In 2004, Sean founded Arcana Studios, which began as a one-person operation in his basement and grew rapidly to become Canada's largest comic book publisher within a year. The studio's success was marked by the release of five original comic titles, all of which received international publication. Arcana Studios won the Shuster Award for Outstanding Publisher in 2005 for their impressive first-year sales. The studio was also nominated for a Harvey Award in its first year, a feat that has only been achieved once since the award's creation. Sean's achievements did not go unnoticed, and he won the Top 40 Under 40 Award in Vancouver in 2008.
Sean's book series, Mighty Mighty Monsters, was announced as the first animated production by Canadian-based studio Bron Studios. As one of the most prolific independent comic book writers in Canada, Sean has expanded his creative reach by producing and adapting his works for movies and television. His animated shows, Clockwork Girl and The Gwaii, which won the Moonbeam Award for top children's graphic novel, were developed into CGI animated features. Although these projects did not gain widespread recognition, Sean has created a series of original animated shows for SpikeTV.
