Scott Thompson, a notable figure, was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario, a city located in the heart of Canada. As the second oldest of four brothers, including Craig, Derek, and Dean, Scott grew up in a vibrant and lively environment that would later shape his personality and career.

Undeterred by this setback, Scott turned to the world of improvisational comedy, joining a Toronto-based improv troupe called The LoveCats. It was during this time that he met Mark McKinney, a fellow comedian and future collaborator. McKinney introduced Scott to the rest of The Kids in the Hall, a renowned comedy troupe that would change the course of his life.
Scott's first encounter with The Kids in the Hall was in 1984, when he appeared as a guest performer.
