Sasha Rionda's Early Life and Career Beginnings
Born in Mexico City, Sasha Rionda's parentage is a unique blend of Swiss and Mexican heritage. Her journey in the film industry began at a tender age of 8, when a casting director approached her mother, marking the start of her professional career.
Early Film Experience
Sasha's early film credits include appearances in Total Recall (1990) and Old Gringo (1989),as well as her work in the independent movie The Devil to Pay (2002). She went on to feature in Homeland (2011),String of Light (2013),Flight (2012),Anna Nicole Smith (2013),and Blind Trust (2017),for which she also served as a producer. Her most recent project was Godzilla: King of Monsters (2019).
Hosting Experience
Sasha's passion for acting was complemented by her experience as a host. She hosted several shows, including "The Music Room" on CNN International, where she interviewed top music groups and emerging artists from around the globe. Her guests included Moby, Usher, Britney Spears, Dirty Vegas, Remi Shand, and more.
Later, she had her own show, "Detalles con Sasha," on CNN Espanol, which covered lifestyle topics such as design, architecture, food, and fashion from various Latin American countries.
Correspondent Experience
As a correspondent for Cinecanal, a Pay TV movie channel broadcast in Latin America, Sasha profiled "behind-the-scenes" movie news and newly released films. She interviewed top Hollywood stars like Robin Williams, Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Susan Sarandon, Goldie Hawn, Nicholas Cage, Christian Slater, and others.
Previous Residencies and Anchoring Experience
Sasha previously lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was the anchor and reporter of "Nuestro Rincon," a program on WKRC-Local 12, serving the Hispanic community in the tri-state area.
Guest Hosting Experience
She has also appeared as a guest host for the "Wild On the Beach Australia" program on the U.S. Entertainment network E!, reporting on sports, nightlife, and wildlife unique to Australia.
Commercial and Voice Over Work
Sasha continues to do extensive commercial, industrial, and voice-over work in both Spanish and English.
