Biography

Sara Hjort Ditlevsen is a multifaceted Danish creative force, boasting a career that spans the realms of acting, writing, and directing. Her journey began in Birkerød, Denmark, where she spent her formative years alongside her parents and siblings, as well as a significant portion of her childhood in the United States.

Upon completing her education at the prestigious Danish National School of Acting in 2016, Sara embarked on a professional acting career that has seen her take on a wide range of roles. Her first foray into the world of acting came at the tender age of ten, when she joined a children's theatre troupe in her hometown. This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for the craft, which would eventually culminate in her leading role in the critically acclaimed series Performances, released in 2007.

As Sara continued to hone her skills, she began to appear in a variety of art-house films and short productions, including the Cannes-nominated film Borgman, directed by Alex Van Warmerdamm, and the Norwegian film The Disappearing Illusionist, helmed by Bobbie Peers. Her impressive performance in the feature film Excuse Me, released in 2013, earned her a Bodil award, presented by the Danish Critic Association, further solidifying her reputation as a talented and versatile actress.

Throughout her career, Sara has been cast in a range of quirky and memorable roles, most recently in the popular series Perfect Places, where she stars as the female lead, Rose. In addition to her acting pursuits, Sara has also turned her attention to writing and directing, with her debut short film Brother set to premiere this fall.
