Ruth Vega Fernandez is a multilingual stage and screen actress who has been based in France and Sweden since graduating from the prestigious French National School of Drama, École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre. After honing her craft in the Theatre Company of the National Theatre (TNP) in France, she made her screen debut in the critically acclaimed Swedish series "Upp Till Kamp", earning a Golden FIPA award for outstanding cast and a Prix Italia for best TV Drama.
Since then, Ruth has divided her time between screen and stage, taking on lead parts and collaborating with some of Europe's most renowned experimental theatre directors, including tg STAN, Tiago Rodrigues, and Gisèle Vienne. Her notable stage credits include touring "L'Etang" alongside actress Adèle Haenel from 2021 to 2023.
On screen, Ruth has worked with acclaimed directors such as Lucie Borleteau in "Cannabis" and Mikael Marcimain, with whom she has collaborated on multiple occasions. Her performances have garnered critical acclaim, earning her a nomination for a "Guldbagge" award for her portrayal of Maud in "Gentlemen" and recognition for her interpretations in "Upp Till Kamp" and "Callgirl".
Ruth's international breakthrough came with the award-winning LGBTQ drama "Kyss Mig". More recently, she has appeared in the Swedish mini-series "Evil".
Born in Spain, Ruth grew up between Spain and Sweden, spent her teenage years in the United States, and later settled in France, Paris. Throughout her career, she has played roles in Spanish, Swedish, and French, and is fluent in four languages.
