Robert Mann, the founder and president of Mannatee Films, began his career in show business as a stand-up comedian with the comedy team Piper & Tupper. They performed for over 13 years, with thousands of live, television, internet, and film performances worldwide.
Mann founded Mannatee Films, writing, directing, producing, and starring in the company's first feature film, Trapped. He also directed the Off-Broadway play Ashes to Ashes in New York.
As a director, Mann worked on the independent feature film Shades of Love, starring Brian Austin Green, and the comedy Piper and Tupper: Hands Free Born to be Wild, which won the "Audience Choice Award" at the SoCal Film Festival.
As an actor, Mann portrayed a grieving father in the festival-winning film Goliath and worked as a script consultant on the independent feature film Crossroad.
Mann wrote, directed, acted, and produced the surrealistic drama The Soldier: The Search for Existence, which won "Best Sci-Fi" at the Independent Shorts Film Festival and "Best Twist" at the Top Indie Awards film festival. The film secured domestic and international distribution through Shorts TV.
Mann's TV credits include a role as a Private Eye on the Sundance Channel's Loredona, ESQ and a production consultant on the feature film Revival!
Mann wrote, directed, and acted in his next independent thriller, The Cassie Confession, which appeared in 11 film festivals, receiving over 15 nominations and winning 8 awards, including "Best Narrative Short," "Best Film Noir," and "Best Writing."
Mann shot his latest films, the emotional drama Done Talking and the psychological thriller Robert Mann's R BnB. Done Talking won numerous awards at various film festivals, including "Best Writing," "Best Editing," and "Best Actress." Robert Mann's R BnB had its premiere U.S. theatrical release at the Regency Bruin Theatre in February 2023, winning "Best Director" accolades at the Wild River Film Festival and receiving 9 nominations at the Orlando Film Festival.
Mann is an active member of several environmental organizations, including Save the Manatee Club, Greenpeace, World Wildlife Federation, The National Resources Defense Council, Defenders of Wildlife, and hopes to shoot his first documentary film about endangered wildlife animals in the future.
