Robert Kouba's life story began in Zurich, Switzerland, where the seeds of his passion for filmmaking were sown during his early childhood. A significant influence on his journey was his grandfather, who played a pivotal role in nurturing Kouba's fascination with the art of storytelling. As he grew older, Kouba's enthusiasm for filmmaking only intensified, leading him to create short films at the tender age of 12.
One of his short films, a testament to his burgeoning talent, was selected for the official lineup of the prestigious Festival Ciné Jeunesse Suisse, the largest and most renowned Swiss Film Festival dedicated to showcasing the work of young filmmakers. This early success laid the foundation for Kouba's future endeavors, and by the time he reached the age of 20, he had already directed his first feature film, starring the accomplished actor John Cusack.
This inaugural feature film was merely the beginning of a prolific career, marked by the creation of numerous other notable works, including CAER (2016),which boasted an impressive cast featuring Jamie Campbell Bower.
