Biography

Robert Heydon is a highly accomplished and internationally recognized filmmaker with a versatile skill set that encompasses directing, writing, and producing. Based in Toronto, he has been actively involved in the film industry for over two decades, boasting a wealth of experience in treaty co-production and financing, including expertise in optimizing and financing soft money and international sales.

As the founder of Lazarus Effects, a Visual Effects and Animation studio, Heydon has demonstrated his ability to excel in multiple areas of the filmmaking process. His impressive portfolio includes a wide range of projects, from feature films to television series.

One of his most notable credits is the film Isabelle, which he produced and directed, starring Adam Brody and Amanda Crew. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in October 2018, where it was showcased in the Midnight Passion section.

Heydon's recent credits include the critically acclaimed film O. G., which starred Jeffrey Wright and won the Best Actor award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2018. He also worked on The Crescent, a film directed by Seth Smith, which was selected for the TIFF Midnight Madness program in 2017.

In addition to his work in feature films, Heydon has also produced and directed several television series, including The Pinkertons. He has also been involved in the production of family adventure films, such as Journey Home, and has worked on projects with renowned directors like Roger Spottiswoode and Irvine Welsh.
