Texas-born actor, Rick, is the sole offspring of H.G. "Guy" Herod and Joyce Marie Fox, his parents. Growing up in Arlington, Texas, Rick attended local schools and developed an early fascination with the world of entertainment, showcasing his talents in talent shows, dance, and stage plays.
Following high school, Rick enlisted in the Army, where he underwent training in Army Aviation and was subsequently stationed in Europe. After a year in Germany, he volunteered for flying duty in Vietnam, serving with the 101st Airborne Division's A Company, 101st Assault Helicopter Battalion in 1969.
Rick's military tour was marked by a leg injury sustained late in his service, which ultimately led to his return home. Upon his release from the military, he married and had two children. He pursued higher education, held various jobs, and eventually returned to his roots in aviation.
Rick's first marriage ended in divorce in 1988, but he later remarried his high school sweetheart in 1992, and has remained devoted to her ever since.
Throughout his life, Rick's passion for entertainment had remained unwavering, and with the encouragement of a friend and his wife, he finally decided to pursue acting as a career in 1991. Since then, Rick has accumulated an impressive array of credits in film, television, and commercials, including notable roles alongside Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton in "Friday Night Lights" and two-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Tom Wilkinson in "The Night of the White Pants".
