Biography

Richard Spencer's early life was marked by a passion for sports, particularly soccer and tennis, which he excelled in from a young age. Alongside his athletic pursuits, he developed a keen interest in acting and recording, with his best friend's Christmas gift of a video camera sparking a creative fire that would burn brightly throughout his teenage years.

From the 8th grade to his senior year of high school, Richard and his friend collaborated on a wide range of projects, including home movies, music videos, kung fu matches, and other forms of entertainment designed to captivate their young audience. This early exposure to the world of filmmaking had a profound impact on Richard, and he remains grateful for the experience to this day.

One particular project stands out in Richard's memory: a high school English assignment for which he produced and taped a production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. His hard work paid off, as he was awarded special recognition for his efforts. This accomplishment not only validated his passion for filmmaking but also instilled in him a sense of confidence and direction.

After high school, Richard pursued a degree in Video Production at Radford University, where he also began to study physical education. This dual focus would eventually lead him to a part-time career as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, allowing him to combine his love of physical activity with his creative pursuits.

Following college, Richard worked behind the scenes at WRICTV 8 news station, before deciding to take the leap and pursue a career in front of the camera once again. In 2005, he turned his attention to acting, landing a stunt role in a Virginia Lottery commercial that involved dropping from the sky alongside a motorcycle and F-150 truck. This experience marked a turning point in Richard's career, and he has since gone on to appear in over 20 commercials, 20 industrials, 10 films, 50 print jobs, and 10 web videos.

Throughout his career, Richard has remained committed to his craft, always seeking new challenges and opportunities to grow as an actor and a filmmaker. In 2013, he began working as a full-time actor, and he is set to direct and star in his first full feature film, which will be shot in Richmond, Virginia in 2014. The script, which Richard wrote in the summer of 2013, marks a significant milestone in his career, and he is eager to bring his vision to life on the big screen.
