Biography

Reshmi Mitra is a renowned cultural and media personality from West Bengal, whose multifaceted talents have extended across various domains, including film direction, production, concept and script writing, marketing, theatre, and journalism.

Throughout the past decade, she has authored an impressive eleven books, further solidifying her reputation as a prolific writer. Her journalistic endeavors have seen her publish numerous articles in prominent Bengali dailies, such as Ananda Bazar Patrika, the largest circulated Bengali newspaper, as well as various popular magazines and newspapers.

Reshmi's impressive filmography boasts an impressive total of eleven full-length Bengali feature films, two Hindi language short films shot on location in the United States, twenty-two award-winning documentaries, and one hundred and five telefilms.

Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to establish two notable theatre production houses, "Niva Arts," named after her mother, and "Tapan Theatre," a running theatre hall located in the heart of Kolkata, alongside her own film production house, "Reshmi Pictures."

Her directorial venture, "Mukti," received widespread acclaim after being screened at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival.
