Preeti Jhangiani was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, to a Sindhi-speaking family. She attended Jai Hind College, Mumbai, and is fluent in both Hindi and English.
Preeti's early career began with a music video titled 'Chui Mui Si Tum Lagti Ho' opposite South Indian actor Abbas. The video's success paved the way for her to appear in three movies in 1999, including Malayalam film 'Mazhavillu' and two Telugu films, 'Thammadu' opposite Pawan Kalyan and 'Narasimha Naidu' opposite Balakrishna.
Her Hindi film debut came with Yash Raj Films' 'Mohabbatein', directed by Aditya Chopra, opposite Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The film's massive success launched her career, with her playing the role of a young widow that became a household name.
Preeti went on to appear in several successful films, including 'Aawara Pagal Deewana', 'Annarth', 'Wah Tera Kya Kehna', 'Ssukh', 'LOC', 'Chaahat', 'Chehera', 'Sauda', 'Jane Hoga Kya', 'With Luv Tumhaara', 'Victoria 203', and 'Chand Ke Paar Chalo'.
On March 23, 2008, Preeti married actor Parvin Dabas, and they co-founded Swen Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Their company produced the critically acclaimed 'Sahi Dhande, Galat Bande', which won several awards, including the Bronze Palm Award at the Houston Film Festival.
The couple has since ventured into sports, founding India's premiere Armwrestling League, known as The Pro Panja League. The first season premiered on Sony Sports network and was a huge success, amassing over 35 million unique viewers. The league has since become the world's best production in Armwrestling.
Preeti is also the President of the National Federation People's Armwrestling Federation India (PAFI),affiliated with the international bodies WAF (World Armwrestling Federation) and AAF (Asian Armwrestling Federation).
