Peter Joseph, a solo percussionist and electronic musician from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, unexpectedly gained international recognition in 2007 after his private performance piece, "Zeitgeist", went viral online. Initially, the piece was intended as a performance rather than a film, and it was only later adapted into a movie.
The success of "Zeitgeist" led to the creation of two sequels, "Zeitgeist: Addendum" and "Zeitgeist: Moving Forward", which also received widespread attention online. It is estimated that over 350 million people have watched one or more of Peter's documentaries since 2007.
In addition to his work in film and music, Peter is a dedicated activist who has lectured globally on topics such as cultural and social sustainability, critical thinking, and the role of the arts and scientific literacy. He has been featured in various media outlets, including the New York Times, The Huffington Post, and Russia Today.
Peter has also participated in multiple TEDx events, worked with The Global Summit, and has been a frequent social and economic critic on Russia Today. One of his side projects is the popular web series "Culture in Decline".
In 2013, Peter was commissioned to direct the official music video for Black Sabbath's Grammy Award-winning single "God is Dead?", which featured segments from the Zeitgeist Trilogy.
