Paul Raschid is a British screenwriter-director with a notable career in the film industry. He has received numerous awards and nominations for his work, including a BAFTA Scotland win and a BAFTA Cymru nomination.
Paul's first produced screenplay was the teen supernatural thriller "Unhallowed Ground", which premiered at the London Independent Film Festival and the British Independent Film Festival. This was followed by his directorial debut with the supernatural-psychological horror film "Winterstoke House", which he also wrote and acted in.
Paul's second feature as a writer-director was the sci-fi thriller/horror/drama "White Chamber", which was shot in just 12.5 days. The film played at 10 film festivals around the world, including Edinburgh, Sitges, Frightfest, Mumbai, BIFAN, and Brussels. The lead actress, Shauna Macdonald, received the BAFTA Scotland Best Actress award for her performance.
In 2019, Paul began working in the interactive film format, directing the sci-fi interactive feature film/ FMV video game "The Complex". The game, which starred Michelle Mylett, Kate Dickie, and Al Weaver, was produced by John Giwa-Amu and Jade Alexander.
Paul's next project was the romantic-comedy interactive feature film/ FMV video game "Five Dates", which was made entirely remotely during the UK's national lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The film starred an ensemble cast including Mandip Gill, Georgia Hirst, and Marisa Abela, and received a BAFTA Cymru nomination in the Feature Film category.
In 2021, Paul wrote and directed the hostage-thriller interactive feature film/ FMV video game "The Gallery", which contains two narratives that the viewer must choose between. The game, which starred Anna Popplewell and George Blagden, was an Official Selection at the Dinard Film Festival and released in 2022 across all major gaming platforms.
Paul's subsequent projects included the romantic-comedy interactive feature film/ FMV video game "Ten Dates", the sequel to "Five Dates", and two further interactive feature film/ FMV video games, "Hello Stranger" and "The Run". Both "Hello Stranger" and "The Run" are due for release in 2025 following film festival selections.
