Patricia Castaneda, a talented actress and writer, hails from Cali, Colombia, where she began her acting career at a very young age. Her impressive resume boasts a plethora of roles, including her first paid acting gig, Tiempos Dificiles, which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the prestigious India Catalina Film Festival.
Patricia's passion for acting led her to pursue a degree in theater-drama at HB Studio in New York, where she studied under the renowned Uta Haggen in 2000. During her four-year studies in the Big Apple, she made her stage debut in a play, and later joined the cast of the off-off Broadway production, Mono, playing the mute role for the last three months of the show's two-year run.
In 2004, Patricia landed the lead role in The Sons of Juan Perez, and her impressive performance caught the attention of Caracol's CEO, who invited her to return to Colombia for a year to star in a TV series that would go on to achieve the highest rating of the year. Throughout her career, Patricia has worked in television, theater, and film, making her one of the rare actresses who has successfully transitioned from acting to writing.
In 2007, Patricia published a collection of 10 short stories, La noche del demonio, and in 2011, she released a novel that was awarded Best Romantic Novel in the International Latino Book Awards. In various interviews, Patricia has credited her passion for writing to the numerous plays she read during her studies at HB, as well as her curiosity about making characters take reckless decisions.
