Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as the youngest of four brothers, Pat grew up in the small suburban town of Flower Mound, Texas. His early life was marked by a passion for the performing arts, which was first nurtured at the age of 10 when he was cast in a local community theatre production chronicling the history of Flower Mound in music, titled "Sweet Flower Mound Land". This production was a huge success, earning the distinction of being voted the best original work in Texas for America's Bicentennial.
Throughout his teenage years, Pat continued to pursue his interest in acting, taking on various juvenile roles in community theatre productions. After completing his secondary education, he enrolled in college, where he majored in theatre and began working in local community and semi-professional theatres in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro Area. During this time, he also worked towards earning points towards membership in Actors' Equity, the stage actors' union.
Pat's college years were marked by a significant development in his personal life, as he met his future husband, Stephen Mosher, while studying at North Texas State University (now the University of North Texas). The couple decided to leave college and begin their careers in the entertainment industry. They soon found themselves working alongside fellow Texas-based actors, including Brent Anderson, Todd Terry, and John S. Davies, taking on various roles in stage productions and television commercials.
Over the years, Pat's regional theatre appearances included notable productions such as "Cabaret", "Eastern Standard", "Twelfth Night", and "The Mouse Trap". His breakthrough role came in 1984, when he appeared as an Air Force airman accused of rape on the TV game show/courtroom drama "Guilty or Innocent". This marked his first major speaking role on nationally syndicated television.
In 1986, Pat appeared in the feature film "Positive I.D.", which also starred fellow Texas alumnus Lauren Lane. This marked his first film appearance. After a decade of working in the entertainment industry, Pat and Stephen Mosher moved to New York City in 1993, where Pat retired from acting for 15 years. During this period, the couple worked in the advertising industry, before Pat returned to acting in 2008.
In 2011, the couple celebrated 25 years together by embarking on a unique adventure, traveling to all 50 states and getting married in every state that would legally allow them to do so. This experience was documented in the 2013 film "Married and Counting", which chronicled their journey. Pat and Stephen Mosher continue to reside in New York City, where they remain a loving and committed couple.
