John Patrick Dortch was born as the youngest of eight children to his parents, Bill and Jean Dortch, in the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee. His early life was marked by a strong foundation in the performing arts, as he began acting in school plays and local productions at Father Ryan High School, in addition to singing in local bands throughout the Nashville area.
Upon graduating from high school, Pat attended Vanderbilt University, where he continued to be an integral part of the thriving music scene in the Southeast. Following his graduation from Vanderbilt, Pat married his high school sweetheart, Rachel Warner, and shortly after, they relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina.
It wasn't until 2012 that Pat rekindled his passion for performance, and he began acting, studying under the guidance of renowned acting coach J.D. Lewis at The Actors Lab in Charlotte, North Carolina. This marked the beginning of a successful acting career, as Pat soon signed with Monarch Talent Agency and landed his first television role on Army Wives.
Today, Pat resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife Rachel and their three children, Maddie, Jack, and Grace. He is also the proud owner and operator of Dortch Acting Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is represented by Privilege Talent Agency in Atlanta, Georgia.
