Oona Airola is a Finnish actress and singer who has gained recognition for her exceptional talent in the entertainment industry. With a Master of Arts degree in acting from the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, which she graduated from in 2015, she has honed her skills in both theatre and film.
Airola's impressive filmography includes her debut role as boxer Olli Mäki's fiancée, Raija Jänkä, in the 2016 Cannes, Un certain regard winner "The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki" directed by Juho Kuosmanen. Her second feature film, "Sorceress", is set to be released in 2017, with Naama Kates at the helm as writer and director.
As a talented musician, Airola is also the founder and lead singer of the 11-member orchestra Lada Nuevo. Additionally, she works as a singer with Ykspihlajan Kino-Orkesteri and has collaborated with Juho Kuosmanen on the music for his films, including the silent films "Romu-Mattila ja kaunis nainen" (2012) and "The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki" (2016).
Born in Kokkola, Finland, on the western coast, Airola is the third of five children, with four sisters and one brother. Her mother, Outi Airola, is a journalist, and her father, Tuomas Airola, is a cellist who has also acted in Juho Kuosmanen's "Painting Sellers" and plays the violin with Ykspihlajan Kino-Orkesteri.
When she's not performing, Airola's passion lies in horses. She has owned horses and enjoyed horseback riding, particularly show-jumping and hurdle racing. As a freelancer, Airola works mainly in Helsinki, where she continues to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
