Biography

Olga Merediz is a renowned American actress, born in Guantánamo, Cuba, who left the island with her family at the age of five to settle in Miami, Florida, before relocating to Puerto Rico, where she spent her childhood and attended American schools. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Newcomb College, the former female counterpart to Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Merediz's impressive career on Broadway includes leading and supporting roles in notable productions such as "The Human Comedy", "Les Miserables", "Mamma Mia!", "Man of La Mancha", "Reckless", and "In the Heights", for which she received a 2008 Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical.

In addition to her stage work, Merediz has appeared in numerous films, including "Marvin's Room" (1996) and "Music of the Heart" (1999) alongside Meryl Streep, "Q & A" (1990) and "100 Centre Street" with Sidney Lumet, and "Evita" (1996) as Blanca Duarte, Eva Peron's sister, directed by Alan Parker.

Her extensive filmography also includes roles alongside notable actors such as Ryan Gosling, Jim Carrey, Robert Redford, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Lopez, Edie Falco, John Leguizamo, Rosie Perez, Barry Levinson, and the late Robin Williams.
