Nikos Mavrakis was born on March 24th, 1989, in Syros, Greece, to George Mavrakis and Evangelia Preka-Mavraki. He has two older sisters, Anna and Julia.
As a child, Nikos demonstrated his multi-talented nature. He made his first foray into acting at the age of nine, as an active member of his primary school's acting group. One of his most memorable moments occurred during a school play, when he forgot his script and improvised his own dialogue, leaving his fellow students and the audience in stitches.
Years later, Nikos participated in a Pan-Hellenic music competition as the lead singer of the chorus from Syros, earning him the first prize. He then graduated from the University of Larissa, Greece, with honors from the Department of Medical Laboratories, despite completing his studies in just three years.
However, Nikos had other ambitions. He secretly enrolled in the Drama School "The Theater Of Changes," dropping out of the Medicine School. Within months, he landed his first TV role in the serial "The Generation of 592 EUR." He went on to participate in various TV series and films, including the daily serial "Stolen Dreams" on Mega Channel, as Lefterakis.
Nikos received an offer from the Turkish production company ADAM film to star in the TV serial "Two Sides and One Ismail" on ATV Channel in Turkey. Although this was a significant opportunity, it also posed a significant challenge, as he would have to act in a language he didn't speak or read. Despite the risks, Nikos accepted the offer and relocated to Ayvalik, Turkey, where the serial was filmed.
Following the completion of "Two Sides and One Ismail," Nikos appeared in a short film named "Lack," earning him two prizes at two prominent film festivals in Turkey. He then took on the role of an American film, "Two Faces of January," alongside Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst, and Oscar Isaac.
With multiple projects currently in production, Nikos continues to build his career and seek out new opportunities.
