Nadine Truong, a talented and multifaceted individual, embarked on her academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2003.
She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing from the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory in 2009. Prior to pursuing her graduate degree, Nadine gained valuable experience in the film industry by working for various production companies and honing her skills in talent representation.
Born and raised in Aachen, Germany, Nadine is the daughter of immigrant surgeons from Vietnam. She is a trilingual individual, fluent in English, Vietnamese, and German. At the age of 16, Nadine made the bold decision to relocate from Germany to San Jose, California, where she began to explore her passion for the arts.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Nadine has also dabbled in photography and taught yoga full-time for a year, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her craft.
Nadine Truong made her directorial debut with the film "Chopsticks," which premiered at the 2007 Vietnamese International Film Festival (VIFF). Her second short film, "The Muse," a dramatic short produced under the Visual Communications (VC) for Asian Pacific fellowship program "Armed with A Camera," also screened at the 2007 VC Film Fest and the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
As a camera operator, Nadine worked on the award-winning comedy short "You've Got Male" aka "Postal Bride" (dir. Chris Nguyen, Ryan Kim). She was also a fellow of the Los Angeles Asian American Pacific Film Festival's 'Armed With A Camera Fellowship' in 2006.
Nadine's impressive career has been recognized with several prestigious awards and nominations. In 2010, she received the San Diego International Asian Film Festival's George C. Lin Emerging Filmmaker Award. Her feature credits include Someone I Used To Know (2011),Senior Project (2014),and I Can, I Will, I Did (2017).
