Mitch was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the youngest of three siblings, and spent his childhood focusing on hockey, a sport that many Manitobans are passionate about. He excelled as a defenceman for the Transcona Railer Express team in the MMJHL, before redirecting his attention to acting.
Although Mitch participated in high school plays, it wasn't until he won a local modelling competition and received scene study classes as a prize that his passion for acting truly ignited. Despite not being interested in a career in modelling, his mother's suggestion that "you never know what could happen" led him to participate in the competition.
Mitch's big break came when he was offered a role in Randall Wallace's film, Heaven Is For Real, starring Greg Kinnear. He played the part of 'Heywood', a young wrestler being mentored by Kinnear's character, and credits that experience and Wallace's kindness as a catalyst for his decision to pursue a career in acting.
Mitch's first major role was in Lifetime's The Choking Game, a film that explored the dark side of teenage naivety. Since then, he has been busy working on numerous projects, including NBC's Timeless, SyFy's The Magicians, the Leo Award-nominated short The Last Stop, Hallmark's The Wedding March 2: The Last Resort, and The Wedding March 3: Here Comes The Bride, which starred Jack Wagner and Josie Bissett.
To those who know him, Mitch's success in the entertainment industry comes as no surprise. A natural-born entertainer, Mitch is known for his comedic talents and spends his downtime songwriting, snowboarding, and attempting to master the art of Jiu Jitsu.
