Biography

Morgan's fleeting stint in the spotlight spanned approximately one year, marked by his film debut in "Barnacle Bill" in 1957, which boasted the esteemed Alec Guinness in the lead role.

Subsequently, he landed a more substantial part the following year as Nosey in another Guinness film, "The Horse's Mouth", in which he had the distinction of delivering the final line.

Despite this promising start, it seemed as though his career was poised for takeoff, only to be tragically cut short by a devastating diagnosis of meningitis during post-production in late May 1958.

Sadly, Morgan's life was extinguished on June 5th of that same year, leaving behind a void that could not be filled. In scenes that required further dialogue work, another actor was employed to dub Morgan's voice, thereby rendering it impossible for director Ronald Neame to distinguish between Morgan's original dialogue and the subsequent mimicry.

In a 2002 interview, Neame candidly admitted that, upon reviewing "The Horse's Mouth" in later years, he found himself unable to discern which lines were Morgan's authentic delivery and which were the substitute provided by the other actor.
