Biography

Michael Andrew Bordin, born November 27, 1962, is an American musician, renowned for his tenure as the drummer for the iconic rock band Faith No More. Nicknamed "Puffy", "Puffster", or "The Puff", Bordin's distinctive afro hairstyle, which he sported in the early 1980s, earned him these affectionate monikers, coined by Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin. Although he eventually abandoned his afro, opting for dreadlocks, the nickname stuck, becoming an enduring part of his identity.

As one of the three founding members of Faith No More in 1983, Bordin was the band's sole drummer throughout its original run, remaining with the group until its initial breakup in April 1998. He rejoined the band in 2009 when it reformed. Bordin's extensive musical journey has seen him collaborate with a diverse range of artists, including Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Korn, Black Label Society, Jerry Cantrell, Primus, The Chickenfuckers, and Pop-O-Pies.

Prior to his association with Faith No More, Bordin was a member of several bands, including Faith. No Man., Sharp Young Men, and EZ-Street. Interestingly, he has had the opportunity to play alongside all three Metallica bassists, sharing the stage with Cliff Burton in EZ-Street and Jason Newsted and Robert Trujillo with Ozzy Osbourne and Jerry Cantrell.
