Michelle La, born Michelle Kang, hails from Orange County, California, where she spent her formative years in Glendale. She went on to attend Biola University, where she majored in biochemistry, initially pursuing a career in the field. Her stint at the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts involved testing treated wastewater before it was released into the ocean, a job she affectionately describes as "analyzing poop water". Despite this unconventional start, La's passion for the arts eventually led her to leave the lab and pursue an acting career in earnest. Her journey has seen her secure roles in prominent TV shows such as CBS's Mom and Netflix's Gilmore Girls revival. However, it's her feature film debut in "Searching", which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, that has garnered significant attention. La plays the role of Margot Kim, a missing daughter, in this critically acclaimed film. When she's not acting, La is married to Frank, a specialty coffee expert, and spends quality time with her daughter Bailey Gianna La and their beloved cream-colored Maltese, Maple.
