Michael Taverna, Chief Executive Officer of MonteCristo International Entertainment, is a multifaceted entertainment industry professional with a diverse range of accomplishments. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated his versatility by writing, directing, producing, and distributing numerous notable films.
Some of his most notable projects include MANAGUA, which starred Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr, and BY THE SWORD, which featured Academy Award-winning actor F. Murray Abraham. His most recent endeavor is APARTMENT 1303-3D, a film that boasts an impressive cast including Mischa Barton and Rebecca De Mornay.
Prior to founding MonteCristo International, Michael joined Horizon Entertainment in 2001 as its Sales and Acquisition Executive. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in the company's growth, contributing to the development of 60 completed pictures. Among these projects were the highly acclaimed horror films THE RING, THE GRUDGE, and DARK WATER.
In addition to his work at Horizon, Michael also served as Executive Producer on several films, including SHADOWS OF THE DEAD, OUTLIER, INA AND THE BLUE TIGER, and others.
In 2006, Michael founded MonteCristo International as a sales, distribution, and film production company. The company has since established a strong presence at major film markets worldwide, including Cannes, AFM, Berlin, MIP TV, and Pusan. Michael's extensive network of foreign buyers has enabled MonteCristo International to successfully distribute films globally.
Today, Michael continues to direct and produce feature films through MonteCristo Pictures, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and accomplished entertainment industry professional.
