Biography

Michael Straka was born in Newark, New Jersey, where his mother, of Chilean descent, and father, of Hungarian descent, both called home. He embarked on his acting journey as a college student at Rutgers University, and later relocated to New York City to hone his craft with renowned instructors.

As a student, Straka studied The Method with Bobby Lewis, Tony Greco of The Actor's Studio, Meisner Technique with Richard Poole, and classics and monologues with Donald Buka and William Woodman. He also trained in commercials with Dovetail.

Mike Straka's on-camera career began at FOX News Channel, where he served as a features and sports anchor from the summer of 1998. His assignments included live coverage of the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Grammy's, as well as the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, CMA's, The Ultimate Fighting Championships, Super Bowls, Country Music Awards, movie premieres, and more. Straka also contributed to FNC's 9/11 coverage.

Prior to joining FOX, Straka worked at CBS News, where he started his broadcast career as a page, ushering audiences for Geraldo and Joan Rivers, and giving tours at the CBS Broadcast Center.

Mike Straka has had a diverse career, starring in several national television commercials, co-starring in the Off-Broadway hit "Tony n' Tina's Wedding," and playing various roles in TV and film, including the blockbuster "Analyze This."

In 2007, Straka published his first book, "Grrr! Celebrities and Other Reasons We're All In Trouble," which inspired "The Grrr! Block," a weekly segment on "FOX and Friends."

Straka was a co-host on "Spike's MMA Uncensored Live" from the iconic MTV Studios in New York City's Times Square, and hosted "The MMA Experience" on Fight Now TV, and SiriusXM's "TapouT Radio."

He was the host of "Fighting Words with Mike Straka" on HDNet and "FOX Fight Game" on FOXNews.com, and served as the UFC correspondent on "Inside MMA."

Straka is a featured columnist for Fight! Magazine and the author of "Fighting Words: In-Depth Interviews With The Biggest Names In MMA."

As a producer, host, actor, and writer, Straka is represented by John Ferriter and Kyell Thomas at Octagon Entertainment. He is married with two daughters.
