Michael Lukk Litwak, a Brooklyn-based filmmaker, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. As a storyteller, Litwak is drawn to character-driven narratives that boldly embrace the absurd, often incorporating classic genre-filmmaking techniques. His creative vision has garnered significant attention, particularly with his NYU Thesis film, "The Life and Death of Tommy Chaos and Stacey Danger."
This unflinching exploration of the devastating impact of space-dinosaurs on a relationship resonated deeply with audiences worldwide. The film's success was remarkable, earning top prizes at NYU and screening at over 40 film festivals globally. In recognition of its outstanding quality, Deadline Hollywood voted it the #1 Short Film of 2014.
Since then, Litwak has enjoyed a successful career, selling a TV pilot to Sony, two feature scripts to independent producers, and directing episodes for the popular web series Snatchers Season 3, produced by Warner Brothers and Go90.
In addition to his work in film, Litwak has also directed advertisements and branded content for notable brands such as Subway, Burger King, Squarespace, Elite Daily, Vox Media, Spotify, and Snapchat. In 2016, he collaborated with renowned filmmakers Doug Liman, Melisa Wallack, Condé Nast, Jaunt, and Samsung to create the first scripted VR series, "Invisible."
Litwak's talent has also been recognized through his selection as a writer-in-residence at The Wassaic Project in upstate New York. He has recently taken on the role of yearly film curator for the organization, further solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the filmmaking industry.
