Michael Cummings began his professional acting career in Bergen, Norway at the esteemed Den Nationale Scene, the same theatre where Henrik Ibsen started, starring in a production of Ibsen's "A Wild Duck". During his time in Norway, he developed a unique "literary tour" that he performed for the men and women and families of those who work on the oil platforms in the North Sea. Concurrently, he worked as a translator for a Norwegian playwright.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, Michael acted professionally in Minnesota for a year before relocating to Los Angeles. Among numerous other venues, he performed at the internationally renowned Children's Theater Company and worked in dozens of commercials and industrials.
In Los Angeles, Michael seamlessly merged stage, film, and television, securing roles in several notable productions, including "Drop-Out Father" alongside Dick Van Dyke, "Miracle on Ice" with Karl Malden, "The Family Tree" featuring Melora Hardin, "Desperate Lives" with Diana Scarwid, and several Shakespeare productions on PBS. On stage, Michael founded The Scandinavian Theater Company and served as artistic director for its first five years. He also acted at various Los Angeles theater venues, as well as regional theaters. Michael has performed in over fifty television commercials, some of which were major national campaigns.
In 1989, Michael transitioned into corporate sales, where he achieved significant success. After twenty years in the corporate world, Michael has recently returned to the acting scene, where he is thrilled to be evaluating projects, including some with his wife of 23 years, Maureen McCormick.
