Michael's journey began with his academic pursuits at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University, where he studied philosophy and film theory. After venturing into non-profit fundraising and eventually business-to-business sales, he discovered his creative interests and began to pursue them.
Michael's early foray into the creative world was through modeling, where he worked for print ads, photographers, and movie background work. He soon transitioned to doing stand-in and featured extra work, which gained him attention in the indie horror community after being heavily featured as an elite Hunt Club client in Hostel: Part III (2011).
To hone his craft, Michael attended acting and improv workshops and has acted in numerous productions, including award-winning shorts, cable network TV, corporate training videos, TV and internet commercials, and independent features. He has played a wide range of roles, from sinister and scary to eccentric, and has been on the sets of over three dozen productions.
When not on set, Michael stepped behind the lens to pursue his passion for photography. His work has been displayed at the Damned Exhibition in Detroit, published online, in newspapers, and in a print magazine. His photographs have even been used by celebrities for their social media profile pictures and have appeared on the cover of a publication.
Michael's interest in writing was sparked when he was asked to write an article about horror film for Michigan Movie Magazine in 2011. This led him to explore his skills as a screenwriter, drawing upon his nearly 30-year personal exploration of film and theory. His script for "The Russian Sleep Experiment" feature film is the first creative result of his cinematic investigation.
In his continued evolution as a filmmaker, Michael has co-produced the mockumentary short, Behind the Scenes of Horrorcore Hotel (2014),and a music video for punk rock band Dead in 5, featuring Don Campbell (brother of Bruce Campbell). With more projects in the works, Michael is set to make a mark in the film industry.
