Özgür's breakthrough role came in 2008, when he portrayed Necip Yilmaz in the popular TV series Kollama, which was broadcast until 2011. This role catapulted him to fame, and he went on to gain widespread recognition for his portrayal of Takoz Irfan in the 2012 TV series Suskunlar.
