Maxime Desmons, a talented filmmaker, made the bold decision to leave his native France behind and start anew in Canada, following his graduation from the prestigious National Theatre School. Prior to his Canadian adventure, Desmons' short films, including "BAGGAGE", "SOMEBODY IS WATCHING US", and "D'UNE RIVE À L'AUTRE", gained international recognition, with "BAGGAGE" and "SOMEBODY IS WATCHING US" making waves around the world. Furthermore, his short film "BONNE MÈRE" earned a coveted spot at the 2008 Berlin Film Festival, a testament to Desmons' emerging talent.
Years later, Desmons would go on to make his feature film debut with "WHAT WE HAVE", a critically acclaimed production that would garner numerous accolades. In 2015, "WHAT WE HAVE" took home the Best Canadian Feature award at the Inside Out Film Festival, a prestigious honor that solidified Desmons' status as a rising star in the Canadian film scene. Additionally, his feature film received the Best Franco-Canadian Movie award at Les Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois 2015, a recognition that highlighted his unique perspective and contribution to the world of Franco-Canadian cinema.
