Matthew Frias was born and raised just outside of Dallas, Texas, where his journey in the performing arts began in elementary school as a member of the creative arts organization, Destination Imagination.
As he grew older, Matthew's love for performing only intensified, and he continued to hone his craft in middle school, landing lead roles in the theater program and discovering that acting was more than just a passing phase.
With a newfound passion for the stage, Matthew decided to take his talents to the screen, enrolling in local acting classes and undergoing rigorous training before being signed by an agent and manager.
Matthew's big break came when he landed a role in the Sony Pictures film, When the Game Stands Tall (2014),a sports drama starring Jim Caviezel, Laura Dern, and Michael Chiklis, which tells the true story of De La Salle High School's record-setting 151-game winning streak.
Following the success of his film debut, Matthew made the move to Los Angeles, where he made his television debut with a role in MTV's top-rated TV show, Awkward.
In addition to his television work, Matthew has also appeared in several independent films, including Akron (2015),a coming-of-age story that follows his character Benny as he navigates family tragedy, first love, and self-discovery.
Matthew's impressive resume also includes upcoming roles in the feature films Where the Bad Kids Go and By Way of Helena (2015),cementing his status as a rising star in the entertainment industry.
