Marliss, a native of Washington, D.C., has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry, with a career spanning both big and small screens.
With a diverse range of television credits, Marliss has appeared in popular shows such as Young & the Restless, Hollywood Heights, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Additionally, she has co-starred in numerous Lifetime, Hallmark, and Ion Original movies, including The Christmas Gift, 12 Wishes for Christmas, and The Wish List.
Marliss has also been recognized for her exceptional talent in theater, earning the title of "actress of unlimited depth" and being praised for her ability to "command the stage with her presence." With over two decades of experience, she has performed in national tours and regional productions, including The Lion King, Hairspray, AIDA, Harlem Nights, Little Shop of Horrors, and Disney's Playhouse Disney Live onstage and Hoop Dee Doo Revue as Miss Flora, becoming the second African American woman to land this role. Her outstanding performance led to her starring in the pilot series Playhouse Disney Lunchtime.
Marliss has also showcased her talents in concert stages, performing alongside notable artists such as Stevie Wonder, Anita Baker, Kenny Loggins, Dave Brubeck, Emily King, and Kate Earl.
Educated at Berklee College of Music, Jacksonville University, and the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts, Marliss currently resides in Atlanta with her husband.
