Mara Katria's directorial debut, the feature-length film "Please Talk With Me," received the Best Director award at the Wilson College Horror Film Fest in 2013. This haunting tale, adapted from the C2D1 Journal Notes by J. Jeff Ungar and produced by CITA Productions, premiered at Scare-A-Con Film Fest and went on to win Best Feature at Spirit Quest Film Fest in 2014. The film's success was marked by its continued presence at conventions and film festivals through 2019 and beyond.
On February 20th, 2020, Mara Katria released her debut single "Midnight Mind" on Channel 98.9 FM, followed by appearances on Lehigh Valley's 88.1 FM and ALT-Natives on ALT-92.1 FM. The song, featuring artist and photographer J. Jeff Ungar, was e-mastered at Real World Studios. Mara Katria also wrote, directed, and edited the music video, which has been screening in film festivals leading up to its public release in spring 2020.
"Midnight Mind" has received numerous Best Music Video awards at international film festivals, including Imagine This Women's International Film Festival, Imaginarium Film Festival, and Sound & Vision International Film Festival.
In early 2020, Mara Katria announced that "Midnight Mind" would be followed by an original EP, Modern M, featuring her friends and heroes, the legendary post-punk band Modern English. The album promises to guide listeners on a journey through time, echoing the mythic past, reflecting the sonic renaissance of the 1980s, and projecting epochs yet to come.
