Madeleine Hyland, a talented actress, singer, and writer, hails from a multicultural background, having been raised in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Manchester, and Aotearoa New Zealand. She holds dual nationality, being a citizen of both the United Kingdom and Aotearoa New Zealand, and is currently based in London, UK.
Throughout her illustrious career, Madeleine has appeared in numerous theatre productions across the United Kingdom, the United States, and Aotearoa New Zealand, including the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company's Olivier and Tony award-winning productions of Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies. The latter played the West End and Broadway, and she has also toured the United States, taking on the iconic role of Hamlet.
In addition to her acting prowess, Madeleine is a skilled dancer, having undergone extensive training in ballet and contemporary dance. She began her singing career in London's jazz clubs before being invited to record as a guest vocalist with the renowned band Dexys. Her contribution to their 2012 album One Day I'm Going to Soar was a significant one, and the album went on to tour worldwide.
Madeleine's creative endeavors extend beyond acting and singing, as she is also a songwriter. Alongside her partner, Joey Batey, she co-founded the alt-folk band The Amazing Devil during their time at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
