Lukas Miko is a highly acclaimed Austrian actor, writer, and director who has made a significant impact in the film and theater industry. His breakthrough role came in Michael Haneke's "71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance", which premiered at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival and went on to win the prestigious "Golden Hugo" award at the Chicago Film Festival later that year.
Throughout his career, Miko has had the privilege of working with some of the most renowned Austrian and German film directors, including Markus Schleinzer, Benjamin Heisenberg, Barbara Albert, Andreas Prochaska, Marvin Kren, Adrian Goiginger, and Philipp Stölzl, to name a few.
In addition to his work in film, Miko has also had a successful stage career, performing at the esteemed Viennese Burgtheater and the Munich Residenztheater. He has had the opportunity to work with some of the most acclaimed directors in the industry, including Klaus-Michael Grüber, Frank Castorf, Andrea Breth, James Macdonald, Declan Donnellan, and François-Michel Pesenti.
Miko's debut as a writer and director was the 30-minute short film "The Frozen Sea", which won numerous awards, including the Lola (the German Oscar) for Best Short Film of the Year in 2007.
Looking ahead, Miko will be seen in the highly anticipated German movie "Stella. A Life." by Kilian Riedhof, as well as the Dutch series "Legacy" by Diederik Van Rooijen, set to premiere in 2023.
