Biography

Luis Chávez's acting journey began in the late 1990s with a guest appearance on the CBS television series "LA Doctors". Since then, he has accumulated over 40 credits in television and film, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

In 2008, he was approached to play a series regular in the television series "Crash", opposite the legendary Dennis Hopper. The series, produced by Paul Haggis, was based on the Oscar-winning film.

Throughout his career, Luis has had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned and Academy Award-winning talent, including Kim Basinger in the thriller "While She Was Out", Adrien Brody in the comedy "High School", and Sandra Bullock and Billy Bob Thornton in the political drama "Our Brand is Crisis".

In 2022, he appeared alongside Christoph Waltz and Willem Dafoe in Walter Hill's western "Dead for a Dollar", which premiered at the prestigious 2022 Venice Film Festival. Luis's portrayal of a quiet and diplomatic personal lawyer received critical acclaim.

His work in "Deadland", a psychological thriller that premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival, has been praised by critics for his ability to convey emotions without much dialogue.

Most recently, Luis has reunited with "High School" director John Stalberg in the thriller "Muzzle". In this film, he plays a non-binary role opposite Aaron Eckhart, a choice that aligns with his own personal gender identity.
