Louis-Pascal Couvelaire's journey in the film industry began in 2002 with the production of his first feature film, SWEAT, an action-packed thriller starring Jean-Hughes Anglade, Joachim de Almeida, Cyrille Thouvenin, and Sagamore Stévenin. This was followed by his second feature film, MICHEL VAILLANT, produced by the renowned Luc Besson.
Before transitioning to films, Couvelaire built a solid reputation in the advertising industry, where he spent over two decades creating more than 600 commercials for prominent clients such as Coca-Cola, Renault, PEPSI, Citroën, Agusta helicopters, Alenia, Ariston, Daewoo, Duracell, Fiat, Finmeccanica, Hitachi, Honda, Johnson, Seat, and Toyota.
Throughout his advertising career, Couvelaire received numerous accolades, including the bronze Medal at the 1998 International New York Festival for his Citroën Xsara advertisement featuring Claudia Schiffer, the silver Medal for Honda, the First Prize at the Montréal Francophonie Festival for his Carte Noire coffee commercial, the bronze Lion at the Advertising Films Festival in Cannes for Metaspirine, two prizes at the Biarritz Festival for Citroën, and the Francophonie Prize for the Royal Air Maroc advert.
Specializing in commercials for cars, trucks, motorcycles, planes, and helicopters, Couvelaire also created a five-minute Imax movie for the Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi in 2009.
In addition to his work in film and advertising, Couvelaire has also ventured into television, directing and producing a 52-minute documentary for ARTE, titled The mystery of the White Bird, in 2010. The following year, he directed three pilot episodes of a TV thriller for France 2, ANTIGONE 34.
In 2014, Couvelaire directed four 26-minute documentaries for Arte on war reportage, titled Mémoire de l'Oubli.
