Louis Herthum, a seasoned professional actor, had a transformative year in 2017, marked by a significant promotion to series regular for the second season of HBO's critically acclaimed series "Westworld". His portrayal of Peter Abernathy, the father of Dolores and one of the first robots to experience programming glitches, left a lasting impression on audiences.
Herthum's acting career began in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he started out in local productions. His big break came in 1991 when he joined the cast of the long-running CBS series "Murder, She Wrote", starring alongside Angela Lansbury as Deputy Andy Broom for the show's final five seasons.
Throughout his career, Herthum has appeared in a wide range of roles, including his recurring parts as Omar in Netflix's "Longmire" and JD, the werewolf pack leader, in season 5 of HBO's supernatural drama "True Blood". He has also had the privilege of working on over 40 stage productions, dozens of commercials, and more than 100 films and TV shows.
In addition to his acting pursuits, Herthum has also ventured into production, founding his own Louisiana-based production company, Ransack Films. Under this banner, he has produced five narrative features, including the award-winning thriller "Red Ridge", as well as one feature-length documentary, "The Season Before Spring", which explores the first post-Katrina Mardi Gras in 2006.
A passionate art and antique collector, Herthum also owns a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, which he lovingly restored as a tribute to the iconic film "Bullitt", starring Steve McQueen.
