Lou Taylor Pucci rose to prominence as a talented young actor following the premiere of Mike Mills' Thumbsucker at the Sundance Film Festival, where he received a Special Jury Prize for acting and the Best Actor Award at the Berlin Film Festival for his portrayal of Justin Cobb, a compulsive 17-year-old thumbsucker.
Pucci made his feature film debut as a young hitchhiker in Rebecca Miller's Personal Velocity, which earned the Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Dramatic Film. He has since appeared in a range of films, including Evil Dead, the fourth installment in the franchise produced by Sam Raimi; Beginners, re-teaming with Mike Mills; The Music Never Stopped with Oscar winner J.K. Simmons; The Answer Man, opposite Jeff Daniels; Carriers, alongside Chris Pine; Richard Linklater's Fast Food Nation; and Will Canon's Brotherhood, which won the Best Narrative Feature award at SXSW.
In addition to his film work, Pucci has made a notable impact on the small screen, starring in memorable recurring roles on "American Horror Story," "You're The Worst," "Falling Water," and as the tortured hipster Benji in the Netflix hit "You." His television credits also include the HBO miniseries "Empire Falls," where he worked alongside Paul Newman and Ed Harris for director Fred Schepisi; an appearance on "Halt and Catch Fire"; a crossover role between "Chicago PD" and "Law and Order: SVU"; and a role as an indie rock icon in Green Day's music video "Jesus of Suburbia."
Born and raised in central New Jersey, Pucci had little interest in acting until his aunt bribed him to try out for community theater at the age of 10. Two years later, he made his Broadway debut as Friedrich in "The Sound of Music."
