Biography

John Cale, a Welsh multi-instrumentalist, and Lou Reed, a musician and songwriter, formed the influential rock band The Velvet Underground in New York in 1965. The group's original lineup also included Sterling Morrison, a second guitarist, and Maureen Tucker, a drummer.
