Lloyd Osbourne, an American-born individual, was the son of Fanny Osbourne Stevenson and the stepson of renowned author Robert Louis Stevenson. This remarkable individual collaborated with his stepfather on three novels, namely "The Wrong Box" published in 1889, "The Wrecker" released in 1892, and "The Ebb-Tide" published in 1894. Interestingly, the latter two novels have been adapted into films. It is worth noting that Robert Louis Stevenson's most celebrated work, "Treasure Island", originated from his efforts to entertain Lloyd on a rainy day in 1881, when he created a map for the boy that eventually evolved into the pirate story.
Throughout his life, Lloyd Osbourne accompanied his mother and stepfather on their journeys, eventually settling with them in Samoa. He later traveled extensively and resided in France and the United States. In his personal life, Osbourne was married twice, first to Katherine Durham and then to his mother's friend, Ethel Head, with both unions ending in divorce.
As an author, Lloyd Osbourne wrote various novels and short stories, persistently striving for literary fame, although he failed to achieve widespread recognition, except for the works he co-authored with his stepfather, Robert Louis Stevenson.
