Biography

Liza Colón-Zayas, a talented American actress and playwright, was born in 1972 in the vibrant borough of The Bronx, New York City, where she spent her formative years. Her journey in the entertainment industry began with a strong foundation in off-Broadway productions. However, it was her groundbreaking one-woman show, Sistah Supreme, that catapulted her into the mainstream theatre scene. This semi-autobiographical play, which Colón-Zayas both wrote, produced, and starred in, is a poignant chronicle of her experiences growing up as a Latina woman in New York during the 1970s and 1980s.
