Liliya May was born in the Former USSR, but her family's relocation to Sydney, Australia, marked the beginning of her extraordinary journey. She completed her high school education in her new hometown, laying the foundation for her future accomplishments.
Subsequently, Liliya enrolled in the University of Sydney and Screenwise Film and Television School, where she refined her skills and knowledge in the field of film and television. During her university years, she also pursued a successful modeling career, working with renowned agencies in Australasia and Europe. Her portfolio boasts campaigns and commercials for prominent brands, including Country Road, Coca-Cola, and Wilkinson Sword.
However, Liliya's most significant breakthrough came when she was cast as a mermaid in Baz Luhrmann's critically acclaimed feature film, Moulin Rouge. This role served as a catalyst for her transition from modeling to acting, and she soon found herself landing roles in award-winning short films and stage productions, including the "Short & Sweet" Sydney theatre festival.
Liliya's subsequent appearances include a role alongside Josh Lawson and Rachel Taylor in "Any Questions for Ben?", directed by Rob Sitch, as well as guest starring roles in the ABC series "Harrow" alongside Ioan Gruffudd and the iconic New Zealand series "Shortland Street".
