Biography

Lee Galea a is multifaceted individual, born on August 22nd, 1979, in Melbourne, Australia, with a unique blend of Maltese and Australian heritage.

As a film director and writer, Lee has made a significant impact in the industry, particularly with his feature film "Monster Pies", which premiered at the Melbourne Queer Film Festival in 2013. This groundbreaking film went on to win the Best Feature award at the festival, a milestone achievement after 23 years of the festival's existence. "Monster Pies" was also screened at several prominent film festivals, including Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival, Philadelphia QFest, and The Galway Film Fleadh, and was distributed in the US and Europe by TLA releasing.

In 2017, Lee released his adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz", titled "The Neon Spectrum", starring Joshua Orpin from "DC Titans" in his feature debut. This film was released by Umbrella Entertainment and was broadcast through the Nine Network in Australia.

Lee has also produced a soundtrack of mostly original songs for his 2019 musical drama "Filterphonic", which opened the "Lorne Film" festival in the same year. "Filterphonic" received the award for Best Drama at the Melbourne Indie Film festival in 2020, and Bounty Films acquired the film for worldwide distribution, along with Lee's fifth feature film drama "Sexagenarian".

In addition to his film work, Lee has ventured into television, releasing his first TV series, the queer comedy "Single, Out", which is currently in post-production for its second season. "Single, Out" premiered on the American Emmy Award-Winning TV Network Here TV in August 2023.
