Laurent Tirard, a native of France born in the year 1967, embarked on a journey to the United States to pursue his passion for filmmaking at New York University. Following his academic endeavors, he secured a position as a script reader for the renowned American entertainment company, Warner Brothers.
After gaining valuable experience in the film industry, Tirard returned to his homeland, France, where he began a career in journalism, contributing to the esteemed magazine, Studio. During his tenure at the publication, he had the privilege of conducting in-depth interviews with an impressive array of 20 notable filmmakers. The culmination of these interviews was a book, published in the year 2002, which offered a unique glimpse into the creative processes and perspectives of these industry professionals.
In 1997, Tirard parted ways with Studio, and subsequently devoted his time to honing his skills as a screenwriter, director, and visual storyteller. He began by crafting scripts, followed by the direction of short films. As his confidence and expertise grew, Tirard made the transition to feature-length directing, bringing his creative vision to the big screen.
